  • This road was blown up several times. It was spiked in 1956 and closed in 1971. Local residents frequently asked is Munnilly opened or shut?

  • In the early 1970s the road was cratered. The chasis of a lorry was once placed across the opening in the road to allow locals to go to the bog to collect their turf. Railway Sleepers were also placed across the road to provide access for locals.
