  • This crossing was also known as Derryvollen Bridge.

  • The bridge was blown up by the British Army.

  • There was a dancing deck on the southern side of the crossing at Flynn's. The deck had a wooden floor with springs. There was also decks at Aghagesh and Killylough. These decks attracted big crowds in the summer nights. It resembled the old tradition of dancing at the crossroads. A local bishop then made it a reserved sin for people to go to the dancing decks.

  • At a local mass, the congregation were asked to 'pray that Flynn's road be kept open'.
