This crossing is located at the entrance of Derrygorry/Favour Royal Forest Park.

This crossing was named after a local man, Matt the Baker, who owned a shop at this border crossing. Matt also owned another shop further south towards Clara Chapel.

Local people often gathered here to fill in the road after it was cratered.
